Welcome to our garden

At every turn, the secret garden rooms of Wormistoune seem to embrace a totally new character.

You can enter through the knot parterre, a hark back to the renaissance and enlightenment Scotland where puzzle and riddle spoke of the Laird’s sophistication and culture.

From the order of the maze, you enter the wild, vibrant pathway to the ancient orchard. See if you can follow the Wyrm’s tail into the garden’s ‘great hall’ - a space where the colours change almost weekly as new flowers bloom and life explodes. This garden room is altogether more visceral and delicate - a living piece of expressionist art. Continue along the Wyrm’s tail, and enter the dark and mysterious cavern of Wormisotune’s enchanted forest.

Suddenly, the openness and colour gives way to soft hues of green and textures of bark and stone. Hidden somewhere along the old stone wall, flanked by ancient trees, the Wyrm reveals itself with dramatic flair.

We are proud to have our gardens recognised by some of the best publications in the world. We host a handful of private tours and open garden days each year. Please contact the team for more information.
